Some Girls

Some Girls by Jillian Lauren was book I had not intended to purchase when I went into the bookstore. I had just been wandering around the store when I saw Lauren’s more current book, Everything You Ever Wanted. While this book did not interest me I noticed the title of her other book and decided to check out that book. Once I read that the book was about her life in a harem I was instantly intrigued. Those are things you think are just in movies and fictional books but here it was in the Biography section of the bookstore!

One of the best parts of this book was that I had to keep reminding myself that this was a real book. So many parts of the book seemed so unbelievable that they just could not be real. Yet they were. This girl lived the unbelievable stories that you read in this book. Lauren was also such a wonderful writer. The way she wrote about her life just hooks you in from the start. The people she meets along the way are such wonderful characters that you cannot believe they are real. I think that was one of the reasons this book was so easy to get through was because it did not read like your normal memoir. Instead it felt like an exotic tale of a girl learning who she really is.
